I'm your classical Gemini and have lots of different interests, goals, etc.
It's not an interesting life for me to focus on just a few things, and I'm
talking about career, hobbies, education, travel, and pretty much all my activities.
My current job is to make sure my telecom customers can take care of their customers.
It means I get involved with computer and switching hardware, as well as
computer software from my company and 3rd party vendors. I previously
worked in our company's data center when mainframes were popular as well as
the distributed systems more in use today. The closest I can come to describing
my work would be a systems analyst.
You can probably tell by my username I like school. I like it for several reasons,
like a chance to meet new and knowledgeable people, the wealth of different types
of activities that are available, but most important the opportunity to keep
current with various subjects I find interesting. I've got a BS in Math,
an MS in Computer Science, and an MBA (Business Admin of course). I'm currently
working on an MS in Math.
Travel has proved very rewarding to me, as I get to see how other cultures
view life in general, as well as seeing novel ways different peoples do things.
I've traveled to most countries in Europe and multiple trips to a number of them.
My favorite countries are Italy, Spain, Britain, Japan, and Saudia Arabia.
Because of my job, I have been able to spend 1-3 months at a time in most of
these countries.
Hobbies are well versified. Musically, I play the piano and organ, and work
for pay occasionally doing so. Until my motorcycle accident 3 years ago,
motorcycling was one but I haven't been on a bike since. Flying is probably
the next biggest hobby. I've flown enough to get my license, but just haven't
gotten it yet. Of course, reading, playing computer games, collecting things,
etc will remain hobbies of mine.
You can probably guess by now my music interest is also rather varied.
My favorite groups, depending on my mood, are the Beach Boys, Boney-M,
Venga Boys, and Yes. But I love classical, rag, marches, and many
other types of music. My favorite composer is Scott Joplin, the
author of many rag tunes, including "The Entertainer".
I help out with a Computer Career group, Explorer Post891. We meet
on a weekly basis, and cover various computer related topics.
My friends mean a lot to me, most more than I let them know. Also,
only a few know the extent I am willing to go to help them out if
they need it. I am single, still searching for that special person.
